After previously designing a screwdriver, I began thinking about how it could be manufactured β leading me to design a mold based on that model π§ π‘. To simplify the process, I chose a single material - soft plastic 𧽠for the gripper, allowing for easier modeling and visualization of the mold concept. The mold design is approximate and based on the original screwdriver dimensions π. π οΈ The complete mold assembly includes all essential components: ⾠𧩠Top Plate βΎ π― Locating Ring βΎ π§ Cavity Plate βΎ πͺοΈ Sprue Bush βΎ π Guide Bush ⾠𧱠Guide Pillars βΎ βοΈ Core Plates βΎ π Ejector Pins βΎ β©οΈ Return Pins βΎ π Return Springs ⾠𧱠Spacer Blocks βΎ π§· Ejector Plate ⾠𧲠Ejector Back Plate ⾠𧱠Bottom Plate βΎ π© Screws π All Screws used are standard-sized and commercially available. This project helped me better understand the mold-making process and component placement in mold assemblies. It was both a creative π¨ and technical π§βπ§ exercise in transitioning a product from design to potential mass production π. π Designed in SOLIDWORKS
