You may have noticed that the Seestar has to be on a tripod mount to operate, as the base has four rubber feet that are longer than the rotating element on the base of the Seestar.
I wanted to put mine directly on the patio table, which is already very sturdy, but I didn't want the extra height of the tripod, hence this base plate. You do need to purchase either a 3/8th to 3/8th tripod screw, or as I have done a 3/8th to 1/4 collar, and then used a 1/4 to 3/8th's converter, see the phot to get a better understanding. Here is a link to the adapter pack I bought - https://goldenlink.club/3-8-adapter
I make no warranty on the sturdiness of this base, although I do use it myself. It is unsuitable if there is any wind (although even with the tripod, the wind will cause imaging issues), but with a tripod, you get extra leg stability; this is ideal for a floor or table with no wind.
Please credit @PixelatedDad if you use this :-)
