Teaching in a school with a high number of neurodiverse students often means finding yourself in need of items to help with students having minor meltdowns. I often will give them printer supports to break, but not everyone has those available. Sensory objects are a great alternative.
These plates are meant to provide sensory feedback for students so that they can focus more effectively. They're like a fidget with no moving parts! Tape them to a desk or offer them to students who need them to have elsewhere.
I have also allowed remixes, so if you come up with any better designs, feel free to post them!
**Suggestion:**
If you plan on attaching them to a desk, I recommend either printing these in PETG, or coating these in polyurethane if you're going to print them in PLA. This will let you sterilize them effectively. Reminder: Kids are gross.
I do NOT recommend using resin epoxy on these. Its thickness will completely coat the bumps and render them useless. (Please, I beg you, learn
