I have a bunch of serger-sized spools of thread, and I always used a complicated adapter rig to try and maintain easy feeding of the thread for my standard sewing machine. Sadly in my most recent move, the rig got broken. Now I've got a 3D printer!
This spool insert should fit most standard 2500m serger spools from brands like Toldi-Lock, Talon Surelock, Beachwood, etc. Some spools fit snugly on this adapter, while others can sit a little loosely. The center hole should fit most sewing machine spool pegs.
MK2 edition has added material at the transition from the base to the shaft. I had one print break while trying to remove it from the print bed. Also added chamfered edges on the base to hopefully make it easier to get some purchase with a prying tool.
The top of the adapter can be lengthened for easier handling/use, but my Monoprice-Select-Mini has a 4.7" tall build area, so that's where I stopped mine.
