All credit goes to myyellowminicooper for an awesome gauge design.
I printed one cause they look cool, and then thought can I make it move?
This is the simplest way I could think of, and it works!
All you need is a SG90 micro servo and something to drive it.
So if you drill out the center of gauge face frame to 5mm to clear the stepper shaft.
Then drill the needle center out to 2mm for the stepper shaft screw. (or you could draw a new needle to suit, with spacer?)
Print the stepper block. Then make a spacer of 5mm diameter with a 2mm hole and adjust the length so that when you screw the needle to the stepper there is clearance and the needle is not clamping down on the frame.
Hook the stepper up to an Arduino or similar and you have a working gauge.
The down side is the servo is a little noisy, and it sticks out the back. I'm going to experiment with stretching the print in the Z axis and see what happens.
