Seyit was born in Camlik village of Havran, in 1889. Seyit conscripted in April 1909. He joined the Balkan Wars in 1912. After the war was ended, he has not been discharged and recruited for the Canakkale forces, as a gunner.
During 18 March Naval War, there was only one battery standing, on Mecidiye forts located on the European side. However, its shell crane was heavily damaged. Corporal Seyit with an unbelievable strength lifted the shell which was 275 kg, for three times and positioned into the battery. This heroic strength of Seyit seriously damaged the Ocean.
Seyit returned home in 1918 where he worked as a forester and a coal-miner. He died in 1939, because of a serious lung disease.
This monument, located near Kilitbahir opposite Mecidiye Şehitli, was built in memory he returned to his village. In 1943 he took the surname of ÇUBUK with the Law of Surname. He died of pneumonia
