This is a mod to add magnets to the Fanatec Formula Rim paddle shifters. I created my own design since the existing ones didn't meet all my requirements.
Features:
- Adjustable actuation force (without the need for tools, it can be done in seconds)
- Low wear on the magnets since they don't touch
- No glue or tape required
- Magnets are not incorporated during the printing process (which can be impossible depending on the printer since many printers have metal parts that attract the magnets near the nozzle)
Materials needed:
- 4x M3 screws (8+ mm length) [and maybe some washers]
- 4 - 16 magnets with a diameter of 10 mm (you can theoretically use 20 or even more magnets if you're hulk)
The magnets used are 10 mm in diameter and have a thickness of 2 mm. By combining different amounts of magnets or varying thick mangets the actuation force can be changed.
Adding or removing magnets can be done by simply using a strong magnet (or a stack of the remaining 10x2 magnets) to
