A mechanical or hydraulic device called a shock absorber, commonly referred to as a damper, is used to absorb and reduce vibrations and oscillations in a vehicle's suspension system. Its main objective is to increase the vehicle's comfort, stability, and control by limiting the movement of the suspension parts and lessening the effect of road imperfections, bumps, and other disturbances. Shock absorbers and springs cooperate in the standard car suspension system. The vehicle's weight is supported by springs, which are also flexible enough to absorb road irregularities and bumps' energy. However, if springs were the only suspension system, a bump or other disturbance would cause the car to bounce excessively. Shock absorbers become useful in this situation.
