This is a sharpening jig for the Shopsmith lathe chisel set. The intent of this is to replicate the functionality of the sharpening jig that has been discontinued. The sharpening guide allows you to sharpen the Shopsmith lathe chisel set that came with many Shopsmiths. This tries to strike a balance between functionality, print time and filament usage. A few features of the original are not supported such as the adjustable angles and sharpening shaper cutters. There are a number of videos on Youtube that describe the operation of the original jig such as this video. This version is used in a similar manner.Hardware Required2 x 1/4-20 1" bolts1 x 1/4-20 1.5" Machine Screw (a bolt can be used as well but is a little trickier to assemble)2 x 1/4-20 knobs1 x 1/4-20 Nylock Nut 4 x 1/4-20 Washers Printing NotesI strongly recommend that you print this in at least PETG.The rail that goes in the miter slot might be tight on the first few insertions into the slot.
