side by side refrigerator air baffle damper diffuser

This is a replacement part for the Air Baffle / Air Damper / Air Diffuser in Whirlpool Side-by-side Refrigerators. This part is known to break at the point where the motor pulls to make it open. This blocks the flow of cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator and prevents it from cooling.

I found detailed replacement/repair instructions in https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+Side-by-side+Refrigerator+Diffuser/16423. That guide suggests fixing/gluing the broken part. This design replaces it with a 3D printed one instead.

The design is as close as possible to the original part except for the intentional widening of the area that is prone to break.

I printed it using ABS with 0.1mm resolution and 100% infill. Just installed (Jan 2nd, 2017) in my fridge so no experience yet.
