I tried a couple of cutter covers shared on thingiverse but they only seemed to be a safety thing. I wanted to copy the one supplied with the snapmaker which also holds the jaws closed to reduce the width of the cutter for storage. That one is rubbery but I managed to get something that worked in PLA.
It worked with my snapmaker tool and also the cheapo ebay special (see pic) that looked like one lots of people use.
Print it upright without supports and ideally with 3 walls and zero infill. It needs a bit of flex and infill can ruin that.
PLA worked for me. 1g ish and 12 minutes.
Anything should work but for me I used :-
0.4 nozzle
0.28 layer
Slow first layer then 200mm/s
No raft or support if you print it upright.
