This is a quick design I created to fix some homemade blinds around the house that were just stuck up with velcro and kept falling off. Print off two, stick to the wall as shown in the picture (put double sided sticky tape or command strips on the backs, or I've included some countersunk screw holes for more permanence or load bearing if you need it) and cut a piece of 1cm dowel to a length fifteen millimetres less than the complete width of the window. It'll drop into the slot on either side and provide a very serviceable curtain or blind rail that can be lifted out to remove the curtain and throw it in the wash if, say, a dirty-pawed cat has climbed up it :) Half hour print, and not even remotely challenging. No support needed.
