Reworked to obsolete all metal components (no more shaft, no more bearings). Just print two parts, slide them togehter, optionally secure them with a piece fo filament.
It seems, not using any bearings is actually an advantage. The friction prevents the spool from rapid movements, and helps to avoid tangled filament.
The mount clicks on the top rail of a Prusa MK3, ... MK4 .. Printer.
Crazy, but after loading the arm from 43182-prusa-mk3-spool-holder-with-bearings into prusaslicer, I found that the rest of the construciton is simple enough to be done with prusaslicer's functions: "add part" and "add negative part"
