I uploaded this for a request in the Wanhao Di3 facebook group.
This is an old design I made in Sketchup, I was a beginner then :-P
Although I would probably redesign this is if I needed a new, it has served me well for quite some time.

Anyway, here it is.


The Axle is 100m long, you can scale it in the slicer if you want a shorter one (only scale the length). I use 2.3kg spools that needs the 100mm version.
Ø is 29mm with internal hole being Ø10 for the caps. You can easily make your own version in tinkercad or any other CAD-software.

Print two holders in PLA for rigidity.
Print two caps in PETG if you can because it has less friction. The caps is just press-fitted into the axle. Add glue if needed. Also add some light oil were they rest on the holders for more smoothness.

Oh, and no need to mount it so close to the edge of your enclosure, I had a leaning ceiling just above my printer before :-P
