The single-point cutting tool, a workhorse of the machining world, utilizes a solitary, precisely sharpened edge to remove material from a workpiece. This versatile tool is commonly used in lathes, shapers, and planers for operations like turning, facing, and creating flat surfaces. As the tool interacts with the workpiece, it carves away excess material, generating chips and transforming the workpiece into the desired shape and dimension. Single-point cutting tools are prized for their simple design, cost-effectiveness, and ability to tackle a wide range of machining tasks. Their robust construction, often employing high-speed steel or carbide, ensures they can withstand the demands of various machining processes. The dimensions are not correct.
