Yesterday I ran into a very common but frustrating problem: I needed to remove a sink drain nut, and I didn’t have the right tool. I checked local stores, and while there are tools available, they were either not in stock or cost around $20 for something I would realistically use only once. From an engineering and efficiency standpoint, that didn’t make much sense to me. So instead of waiting or spending money on a single-use tool, I decided to design and manufacture my own solution. What you see here is a custom-designed sink drain nut wrench. The geometry is specifically adapted to engage the typical features of a drain nut—those internal tabs and limited access space that make standard tools difficult to use. I focused on three main design criteria: Functionality: Proper engagement with the nut to avoid slipping Accessibility: A slim profile to work in tight under-sink conditions Usability: A long handle to provide enough torque without excessive effort The result is a tool that is
