A skeleton themed chess piece set, sculpted by me in Blender 3D, with about 4 iterations of different ways to match the silhouette of a classic chess set. The pawn is the base I used for the rest, adding simple crowns for the king and queen. The rook is a pile of skulls, because a fort/castle is basically a group of defenders. The knight is the upper skull of a horse. The bishop was the most tricky, I tried making hands in a ‘frustrated by king’ pose, then made some horns and finally settled on a brilliant idea of my father, kudos to him. The bishop is a skull twisted to match the normal silhouette, in a befuddled sort of vibe. I tried to replicate the sizes and feel of the traditional Staunton chess set, and the skull was super fun to sculpt, I think I have a thing for sculpting skulls! Two printed copies (in Black and white) sets you back about 200g of filament and 12 hours of print time. My set was printed with tree supports, cubic infill and .20 mm. Feel free to dial it further dow
