These ski racks are intended to use gravity to hold your skis against a wall in the garage (or anywhere else). It is very similar to a rack design from Nolan Schmidt (kudos to the great idea). This design eliminates the printed backing plate, integrates the gear mechanism, and bolts directly to the wall through a printed bushing. It uses about half the filament - and adds some flying buttresses for support. Followed Nolan's recommendations to use E6000 adhesive and Neoprene Rubber as the grip. I bought a roll of 3" wide rubber, cut it to size, and held it in place with rubber bands while the adhesive cured. I attached with 1/4 in x 2-1/2 in. lag screws with a 1/4" washer on the head. The black bolts in the photo are Deckmate Black Deck Bolts. When torquing the bolts, obviously you don't want to crank them down hard enough to deform or crack the 3D printed bushings. Just enough to hold it to the wall.
