untested concept for creating smoke shows really fast. could connect each head together to ignite at once, possibly electric model rocket igniter for each or a hole to light each chain in succession. another way would be to use nichrome.

not sure if potassium nitrate and sugar mix may give off smoke needed so these could be stacked for lots of smoke. mount with some bearings and a wooden frame. this was initailly built for .6" threadrod but had to scale it down to fit on hotbed. smaller rod should work as a second best.
