I updated the fan casing to match the print head that I have (one is brand new as of 24/07) and widened the slot where the two pieces mate. I used Helicoils and melt-in nuts as I have a very low opinion of using metal threads in plastic.
I soldered a 90-degree Dupont male to the Snapmaker board 3.3V hole on the side away from the connectors, there is no need to remove the heat-sink, parallel to the edge of the board and pointed away from the screw-head. It goes over R23 & C11.
I also put the resistors right on the XH connector and the transistor right on the PH2 connector. It’s a bit fiddly, but with this arrangement, there are no components in the middle of the cable and I only used shrink-tubing on the transistor to help hold a Dupont connector to the transistor for the yellow I/O wire. I also used 24AWG silicon insulated wire, being nervous about the wire insulation (some small wires use very low temperature insulation) near the hot-end. I used a small (26-24 AWG) solder-
