We just recovered from a bad storm that came through my area and I was forced to use my Harbor Freight Predator 4000 generator (https://www.harborfreight.com/4000-peak3200-running-watts-65-hp-212cc-generator-carb-69675.html) for about 16 hours. During part of that time we still had rain in the area and so I just dropped a piece of plywood on top of the generator with some stuff to weigh it down to keep the plywood from vibrating or blowing off the top of the generator. I did not want direct rain to fall on the generator, especially while it was running for obvious safety reasons!
I decided that having a piece of plywood was not a bad cover, I wanted something that would be at least a half step better and something that I could easily deploy when needed. I came up with these SnapOnClips. the frame of the generator is .988 inches so I made these clips for an opening of .99 inches. They work perfectly on my generator and I tested them on a 1" piece of pipe I had and although tight
