This jig provides a drilling pattern for mounting Salomon's cross-country bindings. Salomon claims that all of his products has same screw placement so it should work either with SNS and Prolink. I've tested it so far only with SNS Pilot Equipe CL binding.
You can use it either only for marking the screw-hole positions (freehand drilling). However it is more convenient to use the jig as a guide for your drill bit.
Using procedure:
1) Put masking tape on the top of your skies (optional / you can draw directly on the ski)
2) Find your balance point and mark that line.
3) Draw a centre line (optional - centring of jig is easy by eyeballing)
4) Attach a jig using clamps or tape carefully
5) Find a 3.5 mm drillbit and mark required depth of holes from the tip using tape. The depth is length of threaded part of screw plus 5 mm for the thickness of jig. Put it into a drill chuck.
6) Drill all 5 holes
7) Remove jig, tape and clean everything
8) Mount the binding. Don't forget to pu
