Socket Holders for Craftsman Through Sockets

These are simple holders for the old Craftsman “through” sockets. I carry the SAE set in my travel trailer and the metric set in my truck. These holders allow me to carry the sockets I need in a fraction of the space of the original red case. The sockets are held in place with a 0.2mm ring in the middle of each hole. The ring indexes into the retention groove in the socket. This allows them to be easily pushed out for use. NOTES 1 there are PLA and PETG versions of each holder. I used Inland filament and the PETG versions seemed to shrink more than the PETG. So I had to decrease the diameter of the retention rings to keep the sockets in place. 2 there was some slight variation in a few sockets, probably the chrome plating? So I had to adjust a couple of the retention rings to fit properly. I believe on three on the SAE versions required this. If you find the fit too tight, you can sand or file to fit.
