This is a small modification to the fantastic Socketfinity project by WhatsUp3d. I found that with the original socket clips, the protrusion or “nub” that holds the socket in place wore out incredibly quickly even with tougher filaments, so I changed the design to accept a snap fit ball bearing just like an actual ratchet. The ball bearing snaps into a pocket inside the model which is very slightly oversized to allow the ball bearing to rotate in it. There is a 2mm hole through the model into the ball bearing pocket to allow you to pop the ball bearing out again. Handy if a clip breaks so you can re-use the ball bearing. I have also beefed up the legs of the clip by 1mm which has helped reduce fatigue if there is constant tension on the clip. The originals got a little lose on the rails after a while if they were under tension for any length of time.
