If you have an old PS3 eye camera floating around unused and unusable on a PS4, a Raspberry Pi and a solidoodle then this is the one for you.
I needed a camera since moving the printer away and this works well thanks to the awesome work done by the Octoprint people http://octoprint.org/
Camera was modified for closer focus since it is fixed focus originally, from memory this involved pulling it apart, removing the lens assembly and placing it in a vice and twisting the lens with vice grips to break the glue, YMMV, attempt at own risk !
Once done and reassembled without the front shroud you can now twist to focus as required and the zoom option still functions.
Photos are shot from the browser on my ipad.
I printed this standing up, hence support needed for top overhang, worked with no problems though. Attached designspark mechanical file if you want to try a different mounting method, this works quite well and with my printer the camera base is a snap fit into the mount.
