Solo Glider (replacement)

This is a replacement glider for the Estes Solo rocket. The glider, when it works, occasionally gets lost.


Print the ring with PLA or similar with 20% fill. You can drill out the holes on it to as much a 3.5 mm if you are careful. That should let it fit your model without adjusting the print scale.


The cape is made from card stock and typewriter paper. Print the typewriter paper so the pattern is 10 1/4" long and 5 7/8" deep. Sandwich both sheets with craft glue (I used Elmer's Craft Bond spray). Let the glue dry and then spray the whole thing with two coats of clear spray paint on both sides. The color side is printed on any color printer (before cutting out or painting, obviously). After it dries, mount it using the Estes directions.

If you don't like the pattern on the supplied cape, change it in your favorite paint program.
