This is an Extended Grip for the Sony A7R2 Camera but should fit any Sony A7, except the new a7R3 or any of the new A7s with the new battery and larger girp.
The Grip on the Sony A7 only has room for three fingers the grip will allow you to use your little finger too. It is a help when using a large heavy lens and might offer some impact protection.
This is based on the "J.B. Camera Designs Pro Bamboo Grip-Base for Sony A7" Which is much nicer so if you like this you might spend the US $60 for the real one.
The pictures were taken before it was cleaned up have to remember to do that first next time.
