Sovella workbench

Unfortunately i had no time to get deeply into this competition. It's a last day and i went trough all the designs that were participating. Lots of good ones out there but most are not design wise in terms of ergonomics..but that's just what i think. There's no point of uploading another design with gears or pulleys so i just thought to come up something that improves user-friendliness. As i have read from discussions that the biggest head ache seems to be the weight lifting capability - 500kg still quite heavy. So i thought why not to add to already cheap and bulletproof hand crank system a additional shaft and 2 gear. It can be gear mate driven or chain driven and acts like a gearbox when really heavy weights are needed to lift. I believe that in the end of the day the user doesn't care that for heavy lifting the lifting speed isn't as fast as for normal lifting. All you want is get the job done. Besides really heavy lifting occurs usually only seldom and switching the hand crank position for that takes only seconds. Additionally the hand crank can be stored for example on the side of the table so it doesn't obstruct working area. Just a little vision of mine.
