The Soviet Katyusha was a series of inexpensive, truck-mounted multiple rocket launchers (MRLs) first used by the Soviet Union in World War II. Nicknamed after a popular folk song, the Katyusha delivered devastating barrages of rockets to saturate a target area with explosives. Key characteristics and featuresDesign: A Katyusha was a simple artillery system consisting of a set of parallel rails mounted on a chassis, most commonly a ZIS-6 truck.
