An employee is in the hospital with a trach and they were having trouble communicating. They asked for something they could put a pencil through to spell out words. This is what I came up for them. They are thrilled so I decided to share it. This model was more challenging than it looks. I had to start over 3 times because i kept bogging down my CAD program with all the constraints i was using to keep things neat and symmetrical. Eventually i had to take a different approach but it worked well. The characters are reversed on the opposite side so that the user can hold the device up facing someone and they will be able to see which letters the person is spelling out without needing to stand over their shoulder. Not only did i give him letters but i gave him numbers and two emojis to indicate happy or sad quickly. Could also be used to indicate yes or no.Boost MePlease consider a boost.
