Spindle Speed Sensor Timing Disc

This is a spindle speed timing disc for the 52mm Quiet Cut Spindle that is sold by Inventables for the Shapeoko, Shapeoko 2, and X-Carve CNC machines. The disc is designed to be press fit onto the top of the spindle, and has a single slot.

I used a motor speed sensor module that I bought from Solarbotics.com

Press fit the disc onto you spindle, mount the sensor module so that the emitter and receiver will be triggered properly when the slot is between them, and connect to your favorite microcontroller. I am using one of my own Electric Imp (imp002) module breakout boards. This module has a pulse counter feature which makes programming this device extremely simple.

This is an extremely simple print. I used Cura and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
