Spiral Spring Fidget Top

This fidget toy can be spun on your office desk and played with during slow hours. The disc's geometry is such that it allows a limited 6 degrees of freedom motion of the spindle when the disc motion is restricted by holding it with one hand. The spiral design combined with the low thickness allows the spring-back action of the spindle in all directions. It can be spun at high rpm like a Toy Top. There are 2 mm diameter holes in which you can super glue 2mm steel balls to add more mass to the disc to store more energy in the rotational motion. This is a print-in-place design.
