I find that a 45 degree angle relieves significant amounts of pain and carpal-tunnel-related numbness. Created these and use Velcro tape to hold them in place on a lapboard and my desk.
There are two versions - one is plain and the other has a hook to hold a thick USB-C cable (link below for the one I'm using). This is helpful in keeping pressure/strain off the USB-C connector on the board when I'm using the Hot Dox on my lapboard in my armchair :)
I just loop the cable through the tent and wrap around the hook to relieve the pressure (see photos for reference).
