Makes
A free spinning spool holder (with bearings) for most 1Kg filament spools and below. Minimum diameter of centre of spool is 50mm, maximum width 74mm.
Uses 2 low cost 608zz bearings (as used in many skateboards as well as 3D printers) - OD 22mm x ID 8mm x 7mm width.
Designed in 3 parts - centre roll and 2 identical end caps with the bearings. I've used a M8 x 90mm bolt, screwed into a captive nut (welded) on a metal plate fixed to the side of a cupboard conveniently situated above my printer, but you could fix to support on the top of the printer if wished.
Of course, if you just want a roller for some project, then this could be a useful starting point.
