When you get a new spool of filament and it's tightly vacuum sealed, the dessiccant, desiccant, dessicant sachets are in the center of the spool, closed off by the tight sealed plastic. Unless there's some grooves, is the desiccant actually doing anything? So when I switched my filament storage to vacuum bags I thought I needed a better solution, using reusable desicant. These desiccant containers match the radius of a 1kg spool of filament and so you can place them on the filament side, and not worry about them puncturing your vacuum bag. I made two sizes, the small holds about 37g of desicant beads, the large 47g. Two containers take about 2 hours to print using about 36g of filament. *I recommend using clear or translucent filament to better see if the dessicant has changed color and needs drying. ___________
