I have seen a lot of the mason jar candy dispensers, but none had a spring mechanism so I decided to build one for myself. The slider features a locking pin with a quarter turn so that you don't have to use glue or screws to keep it locked in place. A 2mm OD compression spring is loaded into a pin hole on the face of the dispenser to gently push the slider back center to load more candy. Here is a non-affiliate link to the springs I used from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076LZ7XHR?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title To assemble:Add a compression spring into the pin holePut the slider in with the locking pin facing up (there is only one way to push in the slider).Once the slider is about half-way in, the channel makes a quarter turn so that the word “PUSH” is facing right-side up
