Stackable testing tube rack for founding ant queens. It is designed for five testing tubes with a diameter of 16mm and a lenght of 150mm. About 1cm of the tube is sticking out of the rack, which makes it easy to grab it and take it out. If your cotton wool plug is in further than that (which is recommended), the ants will still enjoy a dark founding chamber.
The testing tubes sit in the rack slightly angled, so that even if the plug between the water chamber in the back of the tube and the founding chamber itself somehow starts leaking, the ants can save themselves to the very front of the testing tube and don't have to drown. This also means though, that there will be a little bit of water remaining in the bottom of the tube, which the ants cannot access.
Just consider that when deciding about when it is time for the ants to move to another tube or even a proper arena.
If you're wondering about the holes in the bottom of the rack: they're necessary, because to be maximum light
