I bought a Stanley Cubix STHT77340 Laser Level some time ago.. the laser unit is excellent but the ' do it all' plastic clamp that comes with it is next to useless. Even with very heavy tightening up it often sagged after a little while and if you didn't notice that that had happened your markings would be way off!. I needed something you could easily adjust and leave alone afterwards.

There is a tripod fixing that slides into the Stanley's sides but it only works with their adapter/clamp. So I made my own up and with an STL design that could take a typical tripod threaded 1/4 UNC nut. See photos. I glued the nuts into place. I will print four off and glue four nuts in - but the inserts are moveable to the four sides if you only want one printed as the dimensions are all the same for the slots.

regarding the clamp I bought one of these

and this all metal clamp stays where it is when set once.

Overall I'm happy to use this thing no
