I wanted to share my solution for mounting my Starlink mini on the sunroof of my Tesla during road trips and remote work. After looking at several ready-made options, I didn't want to deal with the hassle of suction cups, so I decided to create my own design.I tested a few other mounts before I built this one, and the biggest issue I encountered was that they scratched the vinyl surface of the sunroof and rattled while driving. To solve both problems, I designed the mount to be slightly smaller than the sunroof opening, which allows for a 2mm thick felt pad on each side (as seen in the images). This simple adjustment completely fixed the rattling and the scratching, making it the perfect solution for me.Check out the design below, and feel free to ask any questions or suggest improvements!
