Starter ant farm

This is a basic starter ant farm that uses a 10 ml 16mm OD test tube for a water supply. It has a 10mm hole in the end for tubing or a feeding tray. This is an alternative to a simple test tube setup and it won't roll.

The file includes everything you need to build the basic formicarium: the housing unit, a plexiglass template, a lid, a feeder, and a plug. The feeder is slightly undersized so it can be inserted and removed without too much trouble. if it is loose, you may try adjusting the scale.

For a test tube you'll need a 16mm (outer diameter) 10ml test tube and a two cotton balls. stuff one cotton ball into the test tube reciever and the other into the mouth of the test tube after filling with water. The cotton balls will wick the water so it is available for the ants. There is a groove to allow an o-ring seal for the test tube if desired.
