Starting Air Valve

The starting air valve is one of the components that are present on the cylinder head of a marine diesel engine. Its is used to inject pressurized air into the cylinder of the main engine in order to create the downwards motion of the piston which would in turn, turn the crankshaft and start up the engine. The model shown here was made in order to serve as a teaching aid for our lecturers to use while teaching our juniors.
