This OpenSCAD program generates “step wedge” test prints allowing one to gauge how much thin layers of plastic filament affect underlying colors. One can use the test prints made from this utility to enhance multicolor prints through selective color layering. Mausonaut (color experiment 1) is an example print that used the 8-color step wedge piece shown in the pictures. The customizer allows selecting the number of colors to cross-test as well as which particular color it should generate the model for. You may also specify how many stepped layers are tested as well as how thick each layer is. The maximum size will scale the resulting model to ensure it will fit within that maximum dimension.
