This is a replacement for a plastic part mounted on a small steel shaft. It is moved inwards to lift the stitch movement finger and to push it through rotation of the wheel in front to a different stitch. The original wheel has a single screw and is subject to strong force when moved without pushing far enough. It is therefore prone to breaking off or slipping. This wheel has two screws on both sides of the steel shaft and can be fitted so tight that it can withstand substantial force. The photographs show the replacement wheel in place and on the sewing machine you see the original broken part.
