I once found these straight rod brackets in our local recycling yard and It turned out they fit perfectlly for this bison tube I had and I turned it into a geocache. I did have 2 sets of the brackets, but I gave one set to a friend in New Zealand, thinking that I would never need them myself and that new ones probably were easy find, right? WRONG.
After almost 5 years of service, someone nicked the geocache from where it had been hiding and so I was in a bit of a bind. The bison tubes are roughly 14mm in diameter (some, a bit bigger) and the only brackes I can find now are eithr too large (19mm inner diameter) and won't fit in the altoids tin or very very expensive to get (I might have find some in the UK that charges a hefty fee in shipping).
So... maybe I can 3D-print this thing? YES.
.. albeit, the overall diments are a bit bigger due to the need for slightly thicker walls and all (maybe I will experiment with pitch 1 threads.. hah), but it will get the job done :)
