Either the backing was too small, or the ¼ impact bit wouldn't fit into the tool properly. I took all the things I had learned from trying to print other models and fixed them in mine. The adaptor fits nicely and snugly into the impact and locks in as it should. It also fits snugly into the winder, so glue isn't necessary for it to stay together.
