String-Art Lamp

This is a lampshade made of string, made for a free-standing lamp with a single light bulb in it. It is designed dim the bulb as little as possible and just be a pretty ornament whether the light is turned on or off. As the bulb is pretty visible inside the shade, I recommend a pretty one with warm light, such as an Edison-bulb.

I printed the arms in white and the stand in black, which I think is very pretty. I am thinking about CNC-cutting or molding the arms from recycle plastic eventually, but that's for a future project.

The stand is designed for the exact cable and socket that I had on hand at the moment, so you may need to customize it a bit if you want to create your own one. It is meant to contain one of those simple flip switches that are cheaply obtainable.
