This 3D model represents a fully functional sundial designed for easy 3D printing without the need for supports. The sundial is composed of several interlocking and clearly defined parts:Base Plate: The main platform with a marked arrow indicating geographic South for correct orientation.Left and Right Protractors: Two side elements with angular markings, used to precisely tilt the sundial panel based on latitude. Two Hinges: These connect the sundial panel to the base and allow it to rotate and lock into position.Sundial Panel: The vertical face showing Roman numerals (from VI to VI) and hour lines, which receive the shadow from the gnomon.Gnomon (Shadow Rod): The pointer that casts the shadow to indicate the time. It must be glued into place as shown in the reference image. All components are designed to be printed without supports and should fit together easily after printing. How It Works:To function accurately:Orient the base so that the arrow points to true geographic South (not magnetic South).Adjust the tilt of the sundial panel using the side protractors: it must be inclined by an angle equal to the latitude of the location where the sundial is being used.Once aligned, the shadow cast by the gnomon on the sundial panel will indicate the local solar time based on the Roman numeral scale. This sundial is both educational and decorative, offering a hands-on way to understand solar time and geographic orientation.
