Do you have spare 608 bearings? Put them to good use in this adjustable spool holder that allows even the heaviest spools to turn freely on a tabletop.
You will need to print two each of parts A and B to hold 1 spool. The parts screw together with #4 sheet metal screws to hold the 608 bearings in place. Once assembled, the brackets rest on top of two rods. Glue one assembled bracket to the end of the rods and leave the opposite bracket free to move to adjust to the width of the spool. Print the rod longer or shorter by scaling the long axis in your slicer; 100% = 100 mm. With longer rods and more brackets you can hold multiple spools at once.
Use higher infill to make the part stronger so that it doesn't flex under the weight of a full spool.
