TAP: Smart Sponge

Olin College of Engineering Integrated Product Design - Fall 2013 Many people wash dishes by hand, leading to significant water waste compared to high-efficiency dish washing machines. Our product, TAP, installs a small solenoid valve on the end of the sink faucet. The valve is actuated by a small wireless button located in the sponge. A simple tap of the sponge turns the sink on or off. Easy to use, non-intrusive, and environmentally friendly. Worked with Ben Hannon, Charles Gordon, Kathryn Lau, and Rachel Donna.
