I didn't feel like messing with wiring or trying to find the right kind of lights for the lithophane lamp, so I modified the original base to fit a standard battery-operated tealight. There is a small lip for the light to rest on (and which it can be glued to) and then the hole should be large enough for you to access the switch and battery compartment. Just about every electronic tealight I have ever seen is the same size, so it should fit into the space snugly. I decided to leave the space for a wire just so the option is still there.
I also went ahead and uploaded another version that simply has a flat base in order to accommodate whatever other type of non-socket light you might want to use.
NOTE: The tea light base is scaled down to 0.668 from the original size. Scaling it up will make the hole too large. Upon request, I can upload a version that is the same size as the original.
UPDATE: I have added a full-scale version that will work with the original Thing's files
